Massage Therapy in Sudbury

Relaxation, Relief, Rehabilitation and Recovery

Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including, muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage Therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.

Whether your need is to have a moment of relaxation, reduce muscle tension or attain relief from chronic pain, a therapeutic massage can enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being.

Depending on your needs, various types of massage and therapies can be offered:

  • Deep Tissue
  • Relaxation
  • Swedish
  • TMJ
  • Lymph Drainage
  • Sports Massage
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Breast/Mastectomy
  • Pregnancy/Post-natal
  • Scar Treatment

Our massage therapist will work with you to see what type of treatment is needed. If you are a first-time patient, please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out a health history form. The first visit sometimes takes a bit longer than other visits as our therapist will go through your health history and perform any necessary assessments depending on your injury or health.

Initial blood pressure readings as well as range of motion testing will be performed to get an idea of where to start from. A treatment plan that includes a reassessment schedule will be set up for you.

Graston Technique® (GT) is a unique, evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively and efficiently address soft tissue lesions and fascial restrictions resulting in improved patient outcomes. GT uses specially designed stainless steel instruments with unique treatment edges and angles to deliver an effective means of manual therapy. The use of GT instruments, when combined with appropriate therapeutic exercise, leads to the restoration of pain-free movement and function. The instruments also are used diagnostically to assess the kinetic chain, in an efficient manner using the principles of regional interdependence.
Graston Technique® speeds rehabilitation and recovery, reduces the need for anti-inflammatory medication and allows patients to continue everyday activities. GT gives back the control that is often lost when injuries occur.
